We all know Nike is a massive global sporting brand. In fact, it’s probably the biggest on the planet. Nike employs in excess of 75,000 people and was valued in 2020 at over $32bn. When it comes to golf, the brand is a regular sight on the greens, perhaps most famously sponsoring Tiger Woods up until recently. Nike has also sponsored other world-leading golfers including Scottie Scheffler, Nelly Korda, and Tommy Fleetwood. In 2013, Nike signed a sponsorship deal with Rory Mcllroy, reported to be worth $100m over five years, but he moved from Nike drivers like the VRS Covert 2.0 a few years ago.
Sadly, Nike stopped manufacturing golf clubs in 2016, but continues to dominate in the golf apparel and footwear market. Second-hand Nike golf clubs are becoming something of a collectors’ item, and we’ve got a huge range at golfclubs4cash.
While we are unlikely to see Nike make a return to golf club manufacturing any time soon, we are still seeing lots of customers coming to us looking for classics like second-hand Nike iron sets. So perhaps the famous brand might change its mind and one day re-enter the world of golf clubs? Let’s hope so!

American golf brand Nike is nothing short of iconic and second-hand Nike golf clubs are in constant demand at golfclubs4cash. With its memorable slogan and bold logo, there’s no doubt that Nike is an industry leader when it comes to golf equipment, accessories and clothing.
Set up and still headquartered in Beaverton, Oregon, USA, Nike was originally called ‘Blue Ribbon Sports’ when it was set up in 1964 by Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight, not officially becoming Nike, Inc. until 1971. But it wasn't until 1984 that the brand started selling golf clubs and accessories.
And where did the name ‘Nike’ (stylised as NIKE) come from? Well, in Greek mythology Nike is the goddess of victory in any field, including war, music, art, and athletics. Keep that up your sleeve for a future pub quiz.
